INTERESTS OTHER THAN TEACHING: Singing, table tennis, badminton and fitness training.

I LIKE TEACHING AT SOUTHWESTERN BECAUSE: The small class size allows us to know each student well and develop opportunities for each of them individually. Also having a smaller faculty gives us an ability to grow not only as a team but as a family so, in support of each other, we can help each student achieve their potential.

FAVORITE QUOTE: “The man who acquires the ability to take full possession of his own mind may take possession of anything else to which he is justly entitled.” – Andrew Carnegie

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: I believe all students can learn and are capable of improving. In my class, I am more of a facilitator rather than a lecturer. My students will engage in activities where they are scaffolded to discover mathematical theorems in a student-centered environment. Critical discourse, where students discuss all the possibilities of how they reach their solutions, will be encouraged to promote self-learning. Having cultural awareness of my students and using meaning and authentic examples that are relevant to them will ensure that they are all included.
