I LIKE TEACHING AT SOUTHWESTERN BECAUSE: Faculty collaborate with the best interests of the student in mind and small class sizes allow me to tailor instruction on a more individual level. This is my first year at Southwestern but already I feel completely at home because of how welcoming the students, faculty and staff have been every step of the way.
FAVORITE QUOTE: “An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field.” – Niels Bohr
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: Every student is capable of success, even in subjects that traditionally have fearsome reputations such as chemistry or math. Forging connections between content, personal interests, and current events makes their learning relevant and meaningful. The beauty of teaching these subjects is that they relate to nearly every other discipline in some way and there really is something for everyone.
