Beaver Creek Ranch Cross Country Team 2019

Beaver Creek Ranch Cross Country Team 2019

It’s been a few years, but the Ranch Campus Sun Cross Country Team has returned to the top of the podium at the Northern Arizona Athletic Association’s Men’s Cross Country Championships!  The men’s team took first place in the championship meet with three of our Sun runners finishing in the top five spots. The women’s team took second place in their meet. Congratulations to Coach Huber and his dedicated team of runners! Capturing the individual silver medal for the boys was senior Gege Dobruna of Kosovo; finishing fourth was junior Kevin Bermingham of Arizona; and finishing fifth was senior Ramiro Flores Acosta of Mexico.  In the girl’s championship race, sophomore Laysha Flores Acosta finished with the silver. (Yes, Laysha and Ramiro are brother and sister.) Coach Huber attributes much of his team’s success to a training regiment that takes advantage of the rugged and hilly desert terrain surrounding the Beaver Creek Ranch Campus. “We’ll be doing the mountain today,” is a frequently heard announcement at our campus morning meetings during cross country season and this year Coach’s rigorous training schedule paid off with another Beaver Creek championship trophy.
