FIRST SEMESTER EXAMS are during the week of February 14-17. To help prepare for college exams, Southwestern’s students have three hour blocks of testing each morning and afternoon, Monday through Thursday. Friday, February 18th, is a post-exam break for students but a ‘grading day’ for teachers, to prepare semester report cards for students and parents by February 25th.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21, is Presidents’ Day, with no classes. As always, students may stay at either campus over the long weekend, and there will be meals, activities, and supervision.

SECOND SEMESTER BEGINS Tuesday , February 22nd.

“ARTS FEST” is a major event at the San Marino Campus. Save the afternoon and evening of Thursday, March 31st, to come and enjoy student work in art, computer design, fashion, instrumental and choral music, photography, and drama, 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Food and drink will be served.

SPRING BREAK STARTS AFTER THIRD QUARTER EXAMS end Friday afternoon, April 15th, through Monday, April 25th. Classes resume Tuesday, April 26th. Please let our Student Office know your plans, whether your student stays on campus or travels. If flying and you’ve not already done so, we urge you to book now to leave campus over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, April 16th and 17th, returning to our campuses on Monday, April 25th. FOR YOUR CALENDAR: GRADUATION DAY for our 8th and 12th grade classes, with awards for students in all grades as we close our 87th school year, is Thursday, June 9th. Finals run from June 3rd through 8th, with The PROM on Sunday evening, June 5th.

BASEBALL, VOLLEYBALL, TRACK AND FIELD EVENTS fill the sports calendar – come “Follow the SUN” varsities, junior varsities, and junior high varsities – see monthly calendar for dates and times, especially for HOME DOUBLE HEADERS of both Baseball and Volleyball on campus the same day. Call the Sports Information Hotline (626-799-5010, then press “6”) for directions to “away” games, scores of recent games.
